Thursday, 1 January 1874. Went to church in the morning. Went out driving in the afternoon & took some mince pies to the old women in the almshouses also went to see St Paul’s.
Friday to January 1874. Did not go out.
Saturday, 3 January 1874. Wet day.
Sunday, 4 January 1874. Went to church morning & evening.
Monday, 5 January 1874. Paid some visits.
Tuesday, 6 January 1874. Called on Mrs Warham
Wednesday, 7 January 1874. Called on Mrs A. Bass, Mrs Toales[?], Mrs Lowe & Mrs Tomlinson.
Thursday, 8 January 1874. Dined at Mrs Warham’s, Mr & Mrs H Wardle, Mr & Mrs Lowe, Mrs Jennings, Mr Jackson were there.
Friday, 9 January 18 74. Called on Mrs H[?] Tomlinson, Mrs Parsons & Mrs Drury. Mr Drury dined here.
Saturday, 10 January 1874. Heard from Mary. Miss Edwards came to stay here.
Sunday, 11 January 1874. Went to church morning & evening. Took a walk after dinner.
Monday, 12 January 1874. Drove to Wellington.
Tuesday, 13 January 1874. Paid some visits.

Tuesday, 20 January 1874. J.Wilkinson’s 21st birthday.. He dined here, also Miss Wardle, Charles & Lizzie, Mrs H Daniel, Mrs Bridgeman, Mrs Jackson, etc.
Wednesday, 21 January 1874. Called on Mrs Richardson. Went to a dance at Mrs Lowe’s.
Thursday, 22 January 1874. Spent the evening with Charles & Lizzie, Mr & Mrs Warren, Miss Edwards & Mr & Mrs Bamber were there.
Friday, 23 January 1874. Paid some visits. Saturday, 24 January 1874. Went for a walk with Bob, called on Mrs Lowe.

Monday, 16 February 1874. Went to London by the ¼ to 8 o’clock train, arrived back here again at 9 o’clock. We took a walk with the Lizzie.
Tuesday, 17 February 1874. We had a dinner party of 19. Mr & Mrs Lowe, Mr & Mrs H.Wardle, Mr & Mrs Warren, Mr & Miss Bilston, Mr W & Mr T Drewry, Mr Bridgeman, Miss Wardle, Mrs Drury, Miss Lowe, Charles & Lizzie. Lunched with Charles.
Wednesday, 18 February 1874 (Ash Wednesday). Went to church. Went to the infirmary in the afternoon. Thursday, 19 February 1874. Walked with Lizzie to Liney Park. After dinner drove to Tetbury & called on Mrs small & went over the ruins of the castle.
Friday, 20 February 1874. We drove to Dove cliff to call on Mrs Thornewill.
Saturday, 21 February 1874. Went over the works with Bob.
Sunday, 22 February 1874. Went to church in the morning & evening. The was a collection for the infirmary & Mr Fisher of Walton preached.
Monday, 23 February 1874. Charles & Lizzie dined here. I went into my district.
Tuesday, 24 February 1874 (St Matthias). Went to church. After dinner called on Miss Gretton & Miss F Daniels.
Wednesday, 25 February 1874. Went to see Mrs Wardle.
Thursday, 26 February 1874. Harriet Wright came.

Monday, 2 March 1874. Miss Ratcliffe & Mrs M Richardson lunched here. Bob went to Derby.

Wednesday, 4 March 1874. Drove to Repton Park to call on Mrs Crewe, she was not at home.
Thursday, 5 March 1874. Bob & I went in the carriage to Newton & walked back home.
Friday, 6 March 1874. Went into my district. Took a walk with Bob in the evening.
Saturday, 7 March 1874. Went with Bob by train to Tetbury, walked from there to hand very &Fald Hall & back to Tetbury, got home soon after 6 o’clock.
Sunday, 8 March 1874. Went to church morning & evening. Walked to Brizlingcot in the afternoon.
Monday, 9 March 1874. Took a walk before dinner. Charles dined here. Miss Wardle spent the evening here.
Thursday, 10 March 1874. Snowy day, did not go beyond the garden.
Wednesday, 11 March 1874. Went in the town.
Thursday, 12 March 1874. The entry of the Duke & Duchess of Edinburgh into London. Snowed in the morning. Wrote to Maggie.
Friday, 13 March 1874. Went into my district. Took a walk with Bob, went to church. Mr Tomkins preached.
Saturday, 14 March 1874. Harriet went to Miss Ratcliffe’s & I walked part of the way with her. Bob & I took a walk in the afternoon.
Sunday, 15 March 1874. Went to church in the morning. We took tea at Miss Wardle’s & went with her to Winshill church in the evening.

Tuesday 17 March 1874. Harriet & I walked up to see Miss Wardle. Mr and sand Miss Daniels came to tea & supper.
Wednesday, 18 March 1874. We took a walk in the evening across the fields & home by the Derby Road.
Thursday, 19 March 1874. We did not go beyond the garden. Mr Bridgeman came to supper. Wrote a short letter to Maggie.
Friday, 20 March 1874. Went into my district & to church in the evening.
