Saturday,1st April 1871. Went to lunch with Maggie. Mary & Charlie came there & I went home to tea with them. Home in a cab.
Sunday, 2nd April 1871 went to church morning & evening. Went to Norfolk Square in the afternoon. Mary & Charlie came to see us.
Monday, 3rd April 1871 went into my district.
Tuesday, 4 April 1871. Went to South Lodge & then went to Mr Fletcher’s with Marie, lunched at St James’s Hall.
Wednesday, 5 April 1871. Mary came to see us & Arabella Robinson.
Thursday, 6 April 1871. Went to Mr Fletcher. Lunched at St James’s Hall.
Friday, 7 April 1871 (Good Friday). Went to church morning & evening. Mary Charles, Isabella & Herbert Rougemont came to see us. Went to see Mrs Walker.
Saturday, 8 April 1871. Went into my district. Dined in Sutherland Terrace & slept at Sutherland Lodge.
Sunday, 9 April 1871 (Easter) went to early communion with Mary & Charlie and to St Michael’s at 11:30. Walked home after lunch. Went to church in the evening at St Philips.
Monday, 10 April 1871. Auntie & Fanny came to see us.
Tuesday, 11 April 1871. Mrs Robinson & Arabella called here & the Miss Rougemonts.
Wednesday, 12 April 1871. Mary came to see us & I walked back with her to Sunderland Lodge. Miss Hunter, Mr Stuart & Arthur phone will dined there. I stayed the night.
Thursday, 13 April 1871. Mary & Charlie went to Carrie Francis’s wedding. I came home. Mrs & Arabella Robinson dined ??? ??? ???.

Friday, 14 April 1871. Fanny & Maggie came to fetch me & I went to Sussex Square. In the evening Auntie & I went to the oratorio of “Elijah”, it was beautiful.
Saturday, 15 April 1871. I went to see aunt Georgiana & Maggie. After lunch I went to Sutherland Lodge. Mary & Charlie walked part of the way home with me.
Sunday, 16 April 1871. Wet day & did not go out. Mary & Charlie came to see us.
Monday, 17 April 1871. Isabella & I lunched with Mary & spent the afternoon. Auntie called & left word that Uncle James died on the 14th.
Tuesday, 18 April 1871. Wet day.
Wednesday, 19 April 1871. Wet day.
Thursday, 20 April 1871. Went out shopping with Mary & Charlie & dined with them.
Friday, 21 April 1871. Mary, Charlie, Harry & Arthur Thornewill dined with us.
Saturday, 22 April 1871. Margaret & Lawrence came to see us.
Sunday, 23 April 1871. Went to church morning & evening.
Monday, 24 April 1871. Went to the cemetery with Jane. She left in the afternoon. Mary & May came to see us.
Tuesday, 25 April 1871. Went into my district. Went over to Sutherland Lodge, dined there & went to Miss Roselle’s concert in the evening at the Hanover Square rooms. Arthur Thornewill went with us.
Wednesday, 26 April 1871. Came home in the afternoon.

Friday, 28 April 1871. May’s birthday. Isabella & I lunched there. I went with the children to the polytechnic, Charlie joined us there & we all went to the ???? ???.

Sunday 30th April 1871. Went to church morning & evening. Mary & Charlie came to see us.
Monday, 1 May 1871. The Exhibition opened. Papa & I went into the Park to see the procession.
Tuesday, 2 May 1871. Mary came to lunch, I walked part of the way back with her.
Wednesday, 3 May 1871. I went to see Auntie. After lunch went to see Isabella, walked with her and little Georgie across the gardens.
Thursday, 4 May 1871. Walked across to Sutherland Lodge in the afternoon.
Friday fifth of May 1871. Mary & Charlie dined with us. Little Effie spent the day. Isabella went in a chair.
Saturday sixth of May 1871. Isabella & I lunched with Mary.
Sunday, 7 May 1871. Went to church morning & evening. Called in Norfolk Square in the afternoon.
8 May 1871. Isabella lunched in Norfolk Square. I lunched in Sutherland Square.
Tuesday ninth of May 1871. Went into my district. Lunched with Mary.
Wednesday, 10 May 1871. Went to the exhibition for the first time with Mary & Charlie.

Tuesday, 23 May 1871. Went for a walk in rotten row. In the afternoon went out driving with Bella & Maggie. Came home at 6.00. Papa dined in Norfolk Square.
Wednesday, 24 May 1871. Miss Ward lunched with us. Aunts E.& M. came to see us in the afternoon.
Thursday, 25 May 1871. Went out shopping with Mary & Mrs Thornewill. I got my brooch. Dined at Sutherland Lodge & came home afterwards.

Thursday 22nd June June 71. We went to see Auntie’s in the morning. I came home in a cab at 6.00. Papa dined in Sunderland Terrace.
Friday 23rd of June 1871 I went to see Mary, they started at a little before 1.00 Maidenhead Thicket. Lunched in Sunderland Terrace. Uncle Henry also there, said goodbye and to aunt Caroline.
Saturday 24th June 1871. Went into my district. Ceci Curzon came to see us.
Sunday, 25 June 1871. Went to church morning & evening. Called with Papa on Mrs Arnold.
Monday, 26 June 1871. Auntie’s birthday, I went to see her & stayed to dinner. Edward Agnes Richard Georgie, Herbert Isabella Maggie, & Lawrence dined there.
Tuesday, 27 June 1871 lunched with Isabella in Norfolk Square.
Wednesday, 28 June 1871 went into the town and my district.
Thursday, 29 June 1871 went out with Isabella in the afternoon. Mr and Mrs Child dined here.
Friday, 30 June 1871 I went to stay with Maggie & Lawrence. In the evening we, Jesse, Emma & Janice went to the Haymarket Theatre & saw “Not if I know it” & “An English Gentleman””.
