October, November, December.
Sunday 1 October 1871. Went to church morning & evening - Maggie & I went to the Oratory together. To Norfolk Square in the afternoon.
Monday, 2 October 1871. Went with Mary to Mrs Hobbs for afternoon tea.
Tuesday, 3 October 1871. Dined in S.Lodge.
Wednesday, 4 October 1871. Stayed at home.
Thursday, 5 October 1871. Went to stay with Maggie & Lawrence. Went out for a drive. And in Sussex Square.
Friday, 6 October 1871. Went out for a drive. Came home in the afternoon.
Saturday, 7 October 1871. Went to see Mary & the Aunts.
Sunday, 8 October 1871. Went to church morning & evening. Went up to S.Lodge in the afternoon.
Monday, 9 October 1871. Went to stay with dear Maggie & Lawrence. Dined in Sussex Square, uncle Anthony staying there.
Tuesday, 10 October 1871 Mrs Bennett came & I helped her with the packing. Dined in S.Square and met Stanley & his wife & Miss Gordon.
Wednesday, 11 October 1871. Went with Maggie to Whiteleys.left G.S.& dined in Norfolk Square. Came home with Papa.
Thursday, 12 October 1871. Went to see Sicily. After lunch met Mary in the Hereford Road & went together to call on Mrs Brass. Dined at Sussex Lodge.
Friday, 13 October 1871. Went up to Gloucester

Terrace directly after breakfast. A very sad day, we all parted with darling Maggie & Lawrence, & little Evelyn.
Saturday, 14 October 1871. Maggie & Lawrence started. I went to see Auntie, we went for a drive after lunch.
Sunday, 15 October 1871. Went to church morning & evening to St Jude’s, Mr Forrest preached. Went to Sunderland Terrace in the afternoon.
Monday, 16 October 1871. Isabella had a little daughter born at 12.30 a.m. I lunched in Sussex Square Georgie & Richard were there we went for a drive in the afternoon.
Tuesday, 17 October 1871. Walked up to Sunderland Terrace with proper.
Wednesday, 18 October 1871. Lunched with Aunts J.[?] & M.
Thursday, 19 October 1871. Wrote to dearMaggie to Alexandria. Dined in Sunderland Lodge.
Friday, 20 October 1871. Went out with Blanche Curzon.
Saturday, 21 October 1871. Wet day.
Sunday, 22 October 1871. Went to church morning & evening. Called on the Arnolds.
Monday, 23 October 1871. Blanche Curzon’s birthday. I went with the three children to spend the afternoon at Scarsdale house.
Tuesday, 24 October 1871. I walked with Blanche to Brompton Square to see Emily Gore.
Wednesday, 26 October 1871.Jane came up. I lunched & we dined at Sunderland Lodge.
Thursday, 26 October 1871. I went to lunch with Isabella Rouge. Georgie & Richard came to see her. Isabella heard from dear Maggie from Gibraltar.

Saturday, 20 October 1871. Popper& I dined in Sunderland Terrace.
Sunday, 29 October 1871.WWent to church morning & evening. Called in Norfolk Square.
Monday, 30 October 1871. Dined in N.T.[?], The aunts were there.
Tuesday, 31 October 1871 wrote to Agnes Noble. Launched with Isabella Rouge, Fanny brought her home in the carriage.
Wednesday, 1 November 1871. All saints day. Went to Christ Churchin the morning. Lunchtime Scarsdale house.
Thursday 2 November 1871. Lunched & dined with Mary & Charlie. Wrote to Maggie.
Friday 3 November 1871. Went to the cemetery with Jane.
Saturday, 4 November 1871. Went with Blanche & the three cause to S.Lodge. They had fireworks & a magic lantern.
Sunday, 5 November 1871. Went to church morning & evening & to the cemetery in the afternoon.
Monday, 6 November 1871. Wrote to Mary Smith & Polly. Launched in Sussex Square. Went out driving with Auntie, she brought me home in the carriage.
Tuesday, 7 November 1871. Munched with Mary, Daisy came to dinner. Dined in Norfolk Square & went to the “All Saints” Penny Reading in the evening.
Wednesday, 8 November 1871. Called on Mrs Chester & Mrs Sands.
Thursday, 9 November 1871. Lunched & died at S.Lodge.
Friday, 10 November 1871. Went to see Cl?? Daniell in Bolton Gardens.

Saturday, 11 November 1871.Gave the blankets out to the poor at the National School. Lunched in Sussex Square.went with Auntie to see Isabella. May & Charlie came to tea, Daisy & Alfred & Edith Bramley also there. Dined & came home in a cab.

Tuesday, 14 November 1871. Dined in Sunderland Terrace. Harry Hamilton also dined.

Thursday, 16 November 1871. Lunch & dined with Mary.
Friday, 17 November 1871. Called on Mrs Fellow & Mrs Murray.
Saturday, 18 November 1871. Heard fromLawrence written in the med C. Lunched with the aunts and went to see Mary, went into the grove with her & Charlie.
Sunday, 19 November 1871. Went to church in the morning & to Norfolk Square in the afternoon.
Monday, 20 November 1871. Lunched at Scarsdale house.
Tuesday, 21 November 1871. Went to a soup kitchen meeting in the committee room. Dined at Mr & Mrs Childs. Dear Mary confined this evening at 20 minutes past 7 o’clock of a stillborn child, a little boy.
Wednesday, 22 November 1871.went up very early to Sunderland Lodge to see Mary stayed there all day.
Thursday, 23 November 1871. Went up to Sunderland Lodge & stayed the night, slept in Sunderland Terrace.
Friday, 24 November 1871. Wrote to Lawrence

Saturday, 25 November 1871. Went into the X to my district. The Prince of Wales taken ill with typhoid fever.
Sunday, 26 November 1871. Went to church morning & afternoon.
Monday, 27 November 1871. Went to see Mary & lunch there. Mr & Mrs child dined with us.
Tuesday, 28 November 1871. Went to Sunderland Lodge & stayed the night.
Wednesday, 29 November 1871. Went with little Effie to see Isabella Rougemont. Returned home in the afternoon.
Thursday, 30 November 1871. Wet afternoon, stayed at home.
Friday, 1 December 1871. Called on Mrs Norman, Mrs staffer, Mrs sell more & aunt Georgiana.
Saturday 2 December 1871. The second anniversary of dear Maggie & Lawrence’s wedding. Isabella’s baby christened - Fanny, Mrs. Herrington & Mr F Rougemont were sponsors. It was christened at 12.30 at Trinity Church by Rev Daniel Moore & named “Isabella”. We afterwards had lunch in G.Terrace. Auntie Fanny, Miss Rougemont were there. After lunch I went to see Mary, Charlie walked home with me as far as the underground station.
Sunday, 3 December 1871. Went to church morning & afternoon.
Monday, 4 December 1871. Lunched at Sunderland Lodge. Harry dined with us & we went to the Penny readings.
Tuesday, 5 December 1871. I lunched in Sussex Square & dined with Papa in Norfolk Square. Miss Slapylton[?] & Mrs Felton also dined, we went to the Penny readings.
Wednesday, 6 December 1871 lunched in Sunderland Terrace & went to see Mary. Heard from the Watsons of the death of their brother, he died on the 1st.

Thursday seven’s December 1871. Went to see Mrs child & lunched with her.
Friday, 8 December 1871. Went out in the morning heard the sad news that the Prince was very ill. The Queen has gone to Sandringham.
Saturday, 9 December 1871. Launched with Mary, the Prince no better.
Sunday, 10 December 1871. Went to church morning & afternoon. We had a beautiful prayer for the Prince, also for the Princess & Queen. God grant our prints may still be sparedtto us!
Monday 11 December 1871.the Prince know better. Launched with Isabella in the afternoon we went to see the bulletin “the Prince lies in a precarious state”.
Tuesday, 12 December 1871. “The Prince has had a very restless night & there is no improvement.” Called on the Miss Rougemonts.
Wednesday, 13 December 1871. The Prince still lies very ill. I went to church to see about the decoration. I went to lunch with Mary & Popper came to dinner.
Thursday, 14 December 1871. 10 years today since the Prince consort died. The Prince little better, thank God. I only went into my district & to see aren’t Emily.
Friday, 15 December 1871. The Prince a little better. I went to the soup kitchen & afterwards to lunch with Mary. We went together to W.Grove. Wrote to dear Maggie & sent her the Prince’s photo.
Saturday, 16 December 1871. Went into my district. The Prince better.
Sunday, 17 December 1871. Went to church morning & afternoon.
Monday, 18 December 1871. Began to decorate Christchurch. Lunched at Miss[?]

Georges birthday. Held the soup kitchen. Went to decorate the church.

Thursday, 21 December 1871. Went to S.Lodge for the children’s party. Dear little Ethel’s birthday. They had a magic lantern & a bran pie[?].
Friday, 22 December 1871. Stayed at S.Lodge till the evening. Papa came to dinner.
Saturday, 23 December 1871. Lindsay’s birthday & Ethel’s. Decorated the church.
Sunday 24th of December 1871. Went to church morning & evening & to Norfolk Square in the afternoon.
Monday, 25 December 1871 Christmas day. Went to church morning & evening also to Brompton Cemetery. Dined at Mr Arnold’s.
Tuesday, 26 December 1871. Stayed at S.Lodge
Wednesday, 27 December 1871. Went out with Mary. Dined in S.Terrace.
Thursday, 28 December 1871. Did not go out.
Friday, 29 December 1871. Came home in the morning. Satan came see me.
Saturday, 30 December 1871. Auntie came to see me. I had a bad cold and did not go out.
Sunday, 31 December 1871. Did not go out all day, Auntie Jesse & Emma came to see me.
