Due to difficulties in getting the scheme passed by the council without any explanation - we have decided to change the scheme so as not to disrupt the present condition of the verges or introduce frameworks for the canopies - which required an extra £400 of money being spent on planning permission which might not be approved.
We have introduced extra seating under the present awnings with a reduced handrail height and also introduced seating in front of the equipment cabin/french boules rink with removable parasols over the seating - 12 new benches in total - see photos below.
The green work made an improved condition of the green early in the year and can be seen below.
The specialist work of slitting/spiking/feeding/moss treatment and scarifying .
The french Boules rink has been positioned adjacent the equipment shed with play taking place prior to the installation of chairs and parasols - as can be seen below.
This project could not have been attempted without the help of Sport England and the national lottery - so a big thank you to them and the folk who play in the national lottery.
