The first aid course - that took place on Wednesday the 8th January was really successful for 7 of our members.
We thank Rachel of British RED X for a very good presentation and instructions on the basics - we all got hands on and felt more comfortable if accidents occur.

We have been looking at offering schools+clubs and the general community sessions of 'taste of bowling' and coaching for 2020. (similar to 2018+2019)
We have prepared flyers and distributed some already so as to get groups/clubs and individuals interested.
As in the past, we will be running introductory/training sessions on our bowling green in 2020 during March / April / May on some weekday mornings from 10 to 12 noon and also on Saturday mornings on March 28th+April 4th+April 11th.
These sessions are instructional and fun and participants will not be obliged to join our club or take up bowling – the sessions are for reaching out to the wider community and hopefully finding folk interested in taking these health and well-being sessions further.
Refreshments are free if we can get funding - so keep your fingers crossed.
Our club members in these sessions are qualified BCGBA coaches with DBS + safeguarding certificates and our club is affiliated to the British Crown Green Bowling Association.
Contact Kev on 07505320612 if you want to help me or if you want to book for the courses.

Holy Infants yr.6 were with us 20th and 24th May
Our bowling coaches had a great time teaching the kids crown green bowling
The youngsters loved it too - and showed that there are some good bowlers of the future.
This is the second year the school has been involved with our club and each time the weather has been great.
The free sandwiches and cakes/biscuits and drinks went down a treat.
Thanks to all of our coaches for giving their time to involve the astley bridge community with our club.
Also a big thank you to Asda and Eric Wright Charitable trust for funding the food and green preparation and equipment for this season.
These activities could not happen without their help

Impact trust coaching on April 26th at 'The Bridge'
The group had a really good time learning all about crown green bowling- the coaching was finished slightly earlier than planned due to rain - which gave everyone more time for sandwiches and drinks and a chat
-The event was funded by both Asda and Eric Wright charitable trust - food and drink and some equipment by Asda / with Eric Wright charitable Trust providing equipment and preparation/cutting of the bowling green beforehand.
So thank you very much.
