These are my thoughts, feelings and fears shared with you all! My mother says we are very brave, my Dad, well, what does he think? Mad, stupid, crazy idiots? Who knows! Dads are very secretive!

Scaffolding Up!

by Wendy - 20:19 on 07 October 2008

Oh boy! What a sight for sore eyes! The poor house...what must 'it' think! ...and the neighbours! The back and sides of the house are completely covered by scaffolding. When I say covered, I mean covered! There are three layers of scaffolding, with a corregated tin roof - great on Sunday when the heavens opened - and the sides have a tarpaulin all the way round. Trussed up like a kipper, as the expression goes!

Over the following weeks, window are being replaced, like for like - NO PVC 'ere mate!  We have found a pair of  Edwardian French doors from a local reclaim yard, made a frame and in the process of painting it, ready to go into the back of the house at the weekend too.

Then the old render, and cement, will come off and be replaced with new lime rendering. Hence the 'body wrap' to protect the clay lump from being washed away.....It will look nice, it will look nice, it will look nice, when it is done...I keep telling myself! ...I can't wait!
