Music Room

An original cast iron fireplace was built into

the chimney, a pair of Edwardian, French

doors have been hung, to open out into the

garden…shame it’s snowy! The floor joists

from the room above, were discovered not

to be attached to the wall! So we decided

to use some old oak (from a Church Lych

gate) as a ‘cottage style’ beam, supported at

the ends by more oak, which beautifully

frames the French doors, particularly now

they are plastered into the wall. Another

eBay purchase was some oak panelling, for

the dining room, which had a huge arch and

a pair of pillars thrown in. This graces the

entrance to the dining room.
