Artists taking part in this years first ArtMap Argyll Open Studios Weekend celebrated the launch of their brochure with a Preview of work at Luckenbooth Gallery Tarbert.

A selection of works ranging from intricate weaving, glass engraving, turned wood, kiln formed glass, landscape and figure painting, were on show. Acting as a taster for this weekends much anticipated event, the night was a great success and a chance for the artists to make last minute preparations before opening their studio doors to visitors from far a field. Many of the artists will be demonstrating their art practices and all will be allowing public access to what are essentially private spaces.

The recognisable 28 page booklet can be picked up at tourist offices and many of the areas hotels, museums and galleries and contains the essential map and details of all the studios involved. Details can also be accessed at www.artmapargyll.com

 

Studios are located from Oban down to the Isle of Gigha and are pinpointed by red dot road markers – follow the dots and pop in to get a rare glimpse of Argyll’s creative talents.
