Louise Oppenheimers work celebrates the innate beauty of her surroundings. Her weavings draw on the nuances and characteristics of our landscape, through the abstraction of organic forms and the combining of a traditional craft with her own contemporary interpretation.

 

Louise enjoys the slow process of pulling weft through warp stretched on wooden frames which allows time for contemplation in the rhythmic pace determined by the medium and the deep satisfaction of translating ideas into a solid, tactile piece of work.
