What to do on a "down" day...
Break the cycle of negative thinking by writing down what's making you feel low and let it out. So many psychologists and doctors suggest this and you think to yourself 'what a load of crap' but it really does help. If you can, try and write about the positive things going on in your life after and be optimistic because things will get better.
Allow yourself time to recharge and relax. Sometimes we do just need a day to stay in our pjs and laze about. Pick a favourite film, an addictive series or a book and try and absorb yourself in them and enjoy them!
Spend time with a friend. Make sure your closest friend knows you need cheering up. Perhaps you don't want to tell them what's wrong, but give them a call and suggest doing something fun together and get out the house!
Exercise...Some people, like myself once upon a time, would read this and think – exercise... YES because what I really want to do when I feel down and sorry for myself is get up, get dressed, hit the gym and sweat it out... For some people that might work but for the more 'relaxed' types, even just going for a walk outside in the fresh air makes you feel way better.
Actually having a bath or a shower can make you feel so much better. Add some relaxing essential oils like bergamot or lavender. Even if you're a guy – nobody has to know!
