Good Start to the Season
Today was the first day back at school for most of us after our winter break!
A group of eight enthusiastic handlers & dogs met up at The Glebe for the first herding meet of the season. Everyone enjoyed their day - not even the heavy storm in the late afternoon dampened spirits. The new pen was pronounced a 'success' - doing a good job keeping the sheep safe & controlling the more vigorous dogs.
This link is a clip of Jackie & Mirk giving us all a demonstration of how it should be done - note that Mirk is working to the whistle & not verbal or hand commands - quite an achievement!
A fuller report of the day will appear in due time.
