REPULSE BAY

Repulse Bay (1968) is seen from the building site painted in the next picture. The military quarters, Roydon Court,  where we then lived was the grey building, top right. This area is now a mass of huge. expensive apartment blocks. The hotel is on the left, with a red roof.   (Oil Paints)

Looking to the right from the apartments. On the headland are two large houses with spectacular views. Along the edge of the beach is a huge house built in medieval style. It is called Eucliffe, after the Chinese Eu family owners. Deep Water Bay is beyond the narrow strip of water.                         (Oil Paints)

Repulse Bay, looking, past the boats, towards Deep Water Bay. Notice the swimming area with rafts, and the building site carved out of the hillside. The trees along the beach road are flame of the forest trees, bright red with flowers in season.             (Pen and Wash)

Another view of Repulse Bay, looking towards Repulse Bay Hotel - now demolished - and the building site on which were built two skyscraping apartment blocks.

(Pen and Wash)

The coast road to South Bay - Repulse Bay is to the right. The steep cliffs down to the road are rich in thick tropical undergrowth. In this view, the Flame of the Forest trees are in bloom.             (Pen nad Wash)

The road to South Bay winds along the coast. The islands add to its attractiveness.
