Jurassic Way or 'Wind Farm Way'?

by Ashby Rambler - 10:28 on 20 July 2015

The Rambler's comments on the adverse impact of Winwick Wind Farm on his local section of the Jurassic Way and other rights of way around Honey Hill (from which the 25 huge Turbines which make up Lilbourne, Yelvertoft and Swinford Wind Farms are already intrusively visible) have been noted by the Webmaster of the disturbingly informative Watford Lodge Wind Farm site, who has helpfully suggested that walkers planning to use the Jurassic Way in the area around Watford Lodge should be advised that the path has been diverted – for full details click here .

The difficulties experienced by Rugby-based rambler, Jon Ingram, on his Crick to Watford Locks Walk , suggest that this diversion has hardly enhanced the route!

Kelmarsh Wind Farm is now also under construction on a site which is crossed by the ancient lane between Haselbech and Clipston, passing Tallyho Covert – an area of semi-natural broad-leaved woodland not far from Naseby Battlefield.

The Kelmarsh turbines will soon disrupt views from the Brampton Valley Way and Macmillan Way.

For those of us with any appreciation of the unique character of the Northamptonshire Uplands, the cumulative effect of all these developments on our landscape and heritage sites is devastating.
