I have recently compiled a proposal for the conservation of Shaw wood (the Dykebar area of Paisley) and submitted it to the Renfrewshire Council's Local Biodiversity Plan Support Group (of which I am a member).  It proposes fencing the woodland off to reduce grazing, whilst allowing people continued access, and a program of vegetation restoration. Also, there could be interpretation and educational activities to accompany this.
