Lochwinnoch botany pictures

Here's collection of photographs of interting species in and around Lochwinnoch.

It will be added to asd the season progresses. Many of them will be from local outings by myself and Jim Blackwood as we go looking for local rarities, to confirm old sightings and maybe find new ones.

Moschatel. This local rarity is found on damp banks beside some local streams. It's quite small and has a short season.

Alternate Leaved Saxifarge. Streamsides and dampo wooldand areas can be capretted with the Opposite leaved Saxifrage. The Alternate L.S. is much rarer. It  is distinct when growing amongst the Opposite L.S. We've found a few clumps of it so far.
