Renfrwewshire Heights. Also known as Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, this area is an SPA on account of its bird species value. Black Grouse, Hen Harrier amongst them. Unfortunately these values have declined over recent years. However, there is a new regeneration scheme being developed which would greatly increase the wildlife value of the area whilst contributing to the restoration of peatlands, enhancement of native woodlands which were once more widespread as well as moderating some of the flooding which affects several surrounding low lying areas.
This is my local area and has several important wildlife areas as well as a number of naturalists so this is a special section for local information.

Castle Semple/ Barr Lochwinnoch
Part of this area forms the RSPB Lochwinnoch but there are the three lochs as well as surrounding natural areas.
