Wilesco D9 Stationary Engine.

This is the first German made Engine to enter my small collection of Steam Engines.....

This little Engine was picked up from a local Chap who had it up for auction. Although this came boxed and in "Kit Form", assembly was an absolute doddle as there is no soldering required because all the joints and connections rely on an olived seal type of union.

The build quality of this machine I have to admit is absolutely second to none and my own personal opinion is that these later Wilesco German models far outstrip Mamods current offerings in relation to finish and build quality.

This particular model (D9) has a toughened water level sight glass on the end of the chrome plated boiler and is fired by means of solid fuel tablets rather than the earlier Mamod type meths burner or spirit lamp. Apart from the obvious "Brick" finish to the firebox and chimney, a whistle, safety valve, inline oil feeder and a rather quaint yet pointless "centrifugal govenor" are also incorporated into this great and worthy little offering.

.........There's even a waste tank incorporated into the base of the chimney housing, the manufacturers of Wilesco Engines really do deserve credit...........

A video of this little engine running will be available to view in "JJs Engine Videos" as soon as I can get round to producing it.
