Mamod The Beginning.

A very brief oversight

Over 70 years ago way back in 1937 in Birmingham, a gentleman by the name of Mr Geoffrey Malins founded what was to become a great British company known as Malins Models which later became known to all as Mamod, a shorter combination of the original title.

The first production unless I am mistaken, contained all Stationary Engines until later production catered for the sales of Traction Engines, Rollers and Wagons.

The Mamod TE (Traction Engine) in all its various guises had a production figure in excess of 486,000 models up until 1996. The Mamod Minor 1 (Mamods smallest stationary Engine) reached a production figure of over 245,000 until it was taken out of production in 1979.

More recently the Mamod "SP" range of Engines with their distinctive blue and red livery have been the mainstay of later production.
