Beano ads 1989

I only have one issue of The Beano from 1988 and that happens to be from just before the introduction of paid advertising, so for now I have started this project with the issues I have from 1989. From this small sample of comics this year it seems the child of 1989 was eating sweetened cereals, sweets, chocolate, snacks, and canned soup with pasta shapes, and drinking malted hot drinks, whilst also keeping hamsters, collecting postage stamps, donating their pocket money to animal charities, shopping in a quality-focused department store and watching underrated sequels at the cinema.
