Ines de Navarra Matriline (by Paul Theroff)

The following matriline was traced by Paul Theroff and is included on this site with his very generous permission, in addition to already being published on his excellent Royal Genealogy website here:

This is a matrileneal descent, showing only the daughters, and the daughters of daughters, etc, from one Ines de Navarra. Any additions or corrections are welcome.

Note: When Paul first posted this several years ago, he had originally traced this matrilineal line to Adelaide de Bézières, wife of Guillaume IV Cte de Forcalquier, as follows:

1.Garsinde de Forcalquier, 1193; 1178 Rainon de Sabran
1.1.Gersinde de Sabran, Cts de Forcalquier; m.Alfonso, Infant of Aragon, Ct of Provence (d.1209)
1.1.1.Gersinde of Provence; m.Guillaume Vcte de Béarn (d.1229) de Béarn m. Diego Lopez de Haro Soberano de Viscaya (d.1254) Diaz de Haro; m.1280 Juan Nunez de Lara (1260-1294) Nunez de Lara, etc….

However, he received a correction from a correspondent, as follows: "I have discovered a little error concerning the mother of Juana Nunez de Lara in your table: Juan Nunez de Lara his father had two wifes : the first was Teresa de Haro died in 1276 and the secund was Teresa Alvarez de Azagra senora of Albarracin. Teresa Alvarez de Azaagra  was the mother of Juana Nunez de Lara (X1308 Fernando de la Cerda) born in 1286. The mother of Teresa de Azagra was Ines de Navarra (X1243 Alvar Perez de Azagra died in 1260 son of Pedro Fernandez de Azagra and Elfa Ortiz), daughter of the king Theobald I of Navarra (Thibaut, Teobaldo). The mother of Ines is not clear: may be a concubine, the first wife x 1220 Gertrude de Dabo or the secund wife x 1222 Agnes de Beaujeu (same first name : french Agnes = spanish Ines). Kind regards, Jean-Louis Dega."
