111111 Henry Sundius Vully de Candole

Henry Sundius was born on 25 June 1841, in Bierlow, a "suburb" of Sheffield, Yorks, the only child of his father, Henri Jean Vully de Candole, who was then a teacher at a brand-new school, called the Wesleyan Proprietary Grammar School; and of his mother, Emilia Sophia nee Corry.

Henry was educatd privately at Cotham School, Bristol.

He worked for Her Majesty's Ministry of Woods and Forests (Crown Lands Dept)

He married Emily Roe Lawe  and they had three sons:-

Henry Lawe Corry Vully de Candole, Born 17 February 1868 in Bayswater, London
Armar Corry Vully de Candole, Born 13 June 1869 in Bayswater, London

James Alexander Corry Vully de Candole, Born 25 May 1871 in Bayswater, London

Henry Sundius died in Barton Regis, Glocs, in May 1877, aged 36 - his boys were then aged between 9 and 6, his widow was 35.

 

Emily Roe Lawe

Emily [somtimes Emelia] was born in Madras, India on 11 April 1842, the second daughter of Alexander Lawe (1797–1876) and Anne Molle (-1811).  She died in London in March 1899, aged 56.
