1111111 Ven. Henry Lawe Corry Vully de Candole
Always called Corry, he was born on 17 February 1868 in Bayswater, London, the eldest of three sons to Henry Sundius Vully de Candole and Emelia Roe Lawe.
Corry was educated at St Paul's School, and Christ's College, Cambridge, and ordained in 1891.
His first post was at Portman Chapel. He held incumbencies at
St James’, Cheltenham,
St Paul's, Ball's Pond,
Holy Trinity, Cambridge and
St John's, Smith Square, his last appointment before he was appointed Dean of Bristol in 1926, a post he held until his death in 1933
The history of the Liturgical Movement within the Church of England is inseparably interwoven with his life and work. An effective instrument in propagating and establishing the Liturgical Movement at Parish level was the "Parish and People" organisation, of which HLCVdeC was a Founder.
In Q2, 1894 in Marylebone, HLCVdeC, aged 26, was married to Helen (Edith) Thompson then 34. They had two sons ;-

He wroe an article "Church Work in South Africa" for "Churchman", August 1905
Corry died on 15 December 1933, and was buried in Bristol Cathedral.
Helen was the younger daughter of Sir Henry Thompson, 1st Baronet (18210-1904) and Kate Fanny Loder (1825–1904). Helen was born in London in 1860, and died in Antibes in 1930, three years before her husband, who was eight years younger.
