1111112 Rev. Armar Corry Vully de Candole

Armar was born on 13 June 1869 in Bayswater, London, the second son of Henry Sundius Vully de Candole and Emily Roe Lawe

Armar was married on 19 Dcember 1897 in Paris to Edith Hodgson. They had a daughter and two sons:-

Corinne Vully was born in Croydon on 19 Septmber 1899.  In April 1925 she started working for "Save the Children", and later that year she travelled to Geneva for the summer school, and she also wrote two poems about this experience: ‘The Disobedient Lady who never got to the SCF Summer School’ and ‘The Obedient Lady who went to the SCF Summer School’. Through these documents we can sense the pride with which Corinne felt for working for SCF and her thoughts on how it was helping change the world.  She was marrid in Hatfield on 31 July 1930 to James Thomas Williams.  They had a daughter Diana and a son Paul, who died in 2000.  Corinne died n Hampstead in Q3 1970.

Armar died in Q4 1941 in St Albans district, and is buried in Ayot St Lawrence, Welwyn Hatfield District, Herts.

 

Edith Hodgson

Edith was born in July 1865 in Blyth, Northumberland, the eldest of three daughters of Josephus Hodgson (1835–1904) and Emma nee Grant (1838–1916), who were married on 12 January 1864.
