Cold Ashby Welcomes First Timetabled Bus for Three Years

by Ashby Rambler - 11:39 on 14 September 2014

It’s not often that a single timetabled bus journey becomes newsworthy but this was one such occasion.

The arrival of Centrebus 60 at the Black Horse bus shelter in Cold Ashby was greeted by cheers from all who gathered to greet it.

In contrast to the previous Saturday, the bus actually materialised - dead on time!

It was encouraging also, to see representatives of the authorities involved in the reintroduction of our timetabled service to Northampton standing with us as the bus drew in.

Hopefully, this indicates their commitment to establishing a reliable regular bus service for all local villagers.

On behalf of the Cold Ashby bus-users, the Rambler thanks all who have committed themselves to this project.

It should be emphasised, however, that mid-week buses are far more likely to be used than the present ‘Saturdays Only’ service.

The campaign continues !
