So what lies in the future for the Albert Hall?

   Well, now it begins.
The fight, no doubt long and hard, to stop Swansea losing yet another part of its history must begin.
The fight to get the Albert Hall back into the hearts and minds of the people of Swansea and also Wales itself!

So much of Swansea’s history and so many of its magnificent buildings have been lost over the years due to public indifference. This simply must not happen to the Albert Hall. The building simply cries out to be used again for future presentation of top class, world, class, entertainment. Pop and classical concerts, world orchestras, conferences, weddings, social functions, top celebrity performers are all possible, even maybe the occasional movie!

The Albert Hall Swansea has the potential to bring all of these, and more, to the city of Swansea, a city that has a population of over 250,000 and its catchment area exceeding 1.5 million or more!

It is a known fact that live, popular, music is seen as one of the biggest moneymakers in the UK today.

Most importantly, the reopening of The Albert Hall can be made possible without any compromise to the programing of the cities other two premier venues, The Grand Theatre and the Brangwyn Hall, indeed they can only complement each other.
The Grand Theatre being a superbly equipped touring theatre for plays and musical productions with 990 seats, the Brangwyn Hall, a beautiful, versatile function room for music and banqueting with a capacity of approximately 1000.
The Albert Hall, with todays seating safety requirements, could have a capacity somewhere between 2300 and 5000 with a mixed seating/ standing configuration and will compliment these venues with its programing of major concert names, both pop and classical, world class orchestras and other large scale presentations that currently cannot be staged in Swansea or its catchment areas.

The Academy Music Grop is a major player in opening old cinemas/theatres for live music use.

Check out the venue guide on their webpage. Some great restorations here...
