Entertainment and Apre Ski in Sjusjoen

On any holiday and at any holiday destination it is great to have some evening entertainment. Sjusjoen can never be said to be the night life capital of Europe but there is a surprising amount of live music and bar life to be had if you wish that kind of thing.

Laven Bar

Laven Bar is right in the centre of Sjusjoen and is without doubt a good meeting place for after ski drinks.     Strangely it is only open on Friday and Saturday nights and during holiday periods but the lively atmosphere and live music well makes up for this.

There is live music from about 2pm through to 1am and it is common to see dancing starting mid afternoon.        Call in for a drink after skiing.    It is a great place to meet like minded people.        I find it fun to see people dancing in cross country ski boots and if you pass early next morning there are bound to be a good number of skis still stuck in the snow at the door, left behind by skiers who have had one to many!

Like all Norway the price of drinks are high but if you have a budget enjoy yourself.

The bar is an old barn, converted tastefully to create a country atmosphere.

Dancing certainly is the order of the night and it can get quite lively.  There is no doubt about it this is where plenty of the Norwegian skiing singletons hang out.      A good apres ski bar!

Hoyfjells Hotel dancing

There is also live music and dancing at the Hoyfjells Hotel.      A Bulgarian couple play a great variety of live music every night from about 9.30 until midnight.       They are a fine friendly couple who ski through the day and play music at night.     Very talented too.    Please give them some support as Norwegians seem to be very shy when it comes to dancing!

There is a bar service and a friendly atmosphere.    If it is quiet the bar may not be open so just pop up stairs to reception to order drinks.

Enjoy!

Sjusjotunet Cafe and Bar

There is often live music at the bar on the Caravan Site on Friday and Saturday nights until 1am.       At the top of the village.   Turn right just where the Birkebeiner Loipe passes under the Storasen road.    The cafe and bar is part of the Caravan and Hytte Site reception.
