2008 REUNION Minutes

32 people were in attendance for the 2008 Ruckman Reunion. The first order of business was the most important: eating!

At 2:00 the business meeting was called to order by President Bob Ruckman. There were two corrections to the 2007 minutes: Nancy DiPaolo received the engraved silver clock and Ruth Neal gave the ribbons commerating the 75th anniversary of the Ruckman Reunion.

New business included an announcement of the 50th wedding anniversary of Bob and Sally Henry on September 7, 2008.

Gene Winbrenner gave the scholarship report. We had seven scholarship applications. All applicants were awarded funds. The three new applicants were Aaron Martin, Kristina Telmey, and Michael Lawrence. The four repeat applicants were Rachel Smith, Rebecca Smith, Blaine Higby, and Natalie DiPaolo.

A collection for the scholarship fund was taken and netted $1270.

Remember, memorials can be given to the scholarship fund as well as leaving a legacy to the fund.

"A Ruckman mind is a terrible thing to waste!"

The scholarship application can be found on the back of this newsletter. The regular fund collection was taken to help defray costs of the newsletter and rental of the shelter. This collection amounted to $80. Dawn Ellers won the auction of the needlepoint Ruckman coat of arms. The meeting was adjourned.

The Ruckman family lost members of its family this year. Betty Thompson Rhodes, Linda Rhodes Winebrenner, and Beulah Ruckman Arbaugh all passed away this year. If you know of anyone else, please let me know so that I can update the family tree. If I missed your loved one, I am sorry about the omission
