Treasures of the Sea

Lovely pearl-encrusted shell, from the seabed broken free; whence you came no-one can tell; your secret hid beneath the sea.

Were you formed on coral reef, where gently waving sea ferns sway, and little fish bright-patterned weave among the shells where you first lay?

As if to boast its treasures rare were not formed by human hand, the sea gives up its shells so fair, thrusting them upon the sand.

Lest we forget how we've been blessed from watery nature's treasure store; when to the ear a shell is pressed, we can hear the oceans roar.

Imagination then takes flight; we feel our spirits soar as we sail off into the night; warm blows the wind and all is peace.
