THE FIRST CHRISTMAS

There must have been a special hush in Bethlehem that night, as in the fields the shepherds gazed in awe; for never had they witnessed such a wondrous sight, as the glorious spectacle they saw.

Such music as they'd never heard came floating on the air, as angel hosts encircled them, and bade them not to fear.

The shepherds then were filled with joy, to hear the news they told.  God's Son was born, a baby boy, just a few hours old.

That He had come to save mankind, and would atone for sin.  Our heavenly Father's precious gift, to all who let Him in.

And tho' it was so long ago, that first great Christmas Day; the message that was given then will never go away.

So when you unwrap your presents, and have some yuletide fun; thank God for the greatest gift of all; JESUS CHRIST, His blessed Son.
