                 1.  The Cup Winner ( Drawing Pen )

i

The idea of a photographer in the gloom with his subjects seen only as a reflection in his camera's lens came to me as an interesting project.  It was sketched lightly in pencil and then completed with a fine drawing pen and rubber. This picture won a prize as an original pen drawing at a Derby Sketching Club's  Annual Trophy Exhibition

          2. Twisted Nails  ( Watercolours )

           3. Who Pushed the Button?  ( Watercolours )

At first I intended to portray people falling into Hell, or a volcano, but when the  title came to me, it gave a very different feel to the picture. Those flicked strokes of the paint-loaded brush were great fun.

           4. Split Personality ( Pencil and Gouache )

The main difficulty with this picture was in fitting the pieces together in a different order from the original portrait.

5.Laid Back Lidia  ( Torn  and Cut Colour Supplement Pages )

Oops! Her feet are facing the wrong way.

6...And Finally - The Bar!  ( Watercolours )

A series of experiences at theatre bars led to this composition, although no specific bar is shown. The intention was to show the noisy crowd chattering and pushing to get a drink within the allotted time while the barmen, surrounded by their armoury of drink related items, nonchalantly and arrogantly deal with individual orders.,
