Four Fantasy Landscapes

1. Ancient Tombs (Drawing Pen)

Clouds are rising above the hills and spilling down  the valleys. A strong wind moans through the ancient tombs and gale-blown grit scourges standing stones which are already eroded to fangs.  An approaching storm rumbles and cracks, drenching another stone circle on a nearby  hillside.

  2. An Unplanned Meeting (Drawing Pen)

A family, out for a moonlit walk by the river, is surprised as a unicorn emerges from cover. The unicorn, approaching the river to drink, is equally surprised. What a moment! Both mythical beast and family are frozen with shock.

3. The Way to the Top (Drawing Pen)

A day at  the Glyders in Snowdonia found us climbing The Devil's Kitchen and scrambling up a steep scree slope which seemed to have no ending. The wind tore at our clothes as we climbed, trying to send us tumbling back to the bottom. Next came the aptly named Bristly Ridge where piles of large rocks seem to have grouped themselves together and pushed their sharp ends towards the sky. Bristly Ridge was my inspiration for this pen drawing. Its title suggests that to reach the top in any situation, it is necessary to take the twists and turns of life in your stride and be prepared to face any difficulties which may lie in your path.

   4. A Choppy Sea (Drawing Pen)

An eagle's eye view over the sea.

A small boat,  insignificant beneath the towering cliffs,  with large waves slapping its port side,  makes for the dangerous sea gate.
