Anneliese Peebles Gonzalez

Anneliese Peebles Gonzalez is a wood carver based in Santiago, Chile. She was inspired to start carving Celtic designs by George Bain’s book 'Celtic Art: The Methods of Construction'. The designs are carved from the wood of the Rauli tree, a native of Chile. A large design like this one takes more than 100 hours work - and there’s no hiding from mistakes!

Anneliese's piece ‘Plate P from the Book of Kells’ is on display in the museum until the end of October. To contact her to see more of her fabulous work, head to her etsy shop:https://www.etsy.com/uk/market/orion_carvings, or find her on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/OrionCarvingsTalladosCeltas/ or Instagram https://www.instagram.com/orioncarvings/?hl=en
