THE PILLARS OF MERKINCH

It was with great pleasure that Groam House Museum (GHM) announced the unveiling of The Pillars of Merkinch on the 17th May 2015. The art work is part of an outreach programme run by the Museum and supported by Breathe and Arts in Merkinch

The project was facilitated by GHM Volunteer Co-ordinator Carola Martin-Smith and local artist Sally Purdy. The unveiling ceremony took place at the Breathe Chapel in Merkinch, Inverness and was a wonderful occasion, attended by all participants and supporters. Sally presented all volunteers with a certificate of achievement and the sun shone, making The Pillars look magnificent.

"It has been a real privilege to be part of this project, and not only do we have a lovely piece of art work as a result but we have all discovered talents we did not know we had, and made some good friends along the way" said Carola

It is with great thanks to Highlife Highland that this project was possible.

Arts in Merkinch, as an organisation who aim to promote social, physical and emotional health by providing access to arts, are delighted to have been able to partner Groam House Museum on this project and our participants have gained valuable new skills working with the talented Sally Purdy.
