New Year's Eve Celebrations at The Village Hall. Last year, and rather last minute, the Social Club decided to put on a small NYE celebration at the hall. They expected thirty or so people to pop along and ended up with seventy! I've heard that they might be planning to do the same this year, but this time give plenty of notice. So do please watch this space for updates.
Saturday 17th January Time tbc (evening)
Andy Marshall - The Crooner By popular demand we welcome back Andy to sing for us at The Hall. The event is brought to you by the Cubert and Holywell Carnival Committee and tickets will go on sale at Londis nearer the time. Saturday 31st January Time tbc (evening)
Barn Dance at The Hall It's been too long since we had a good knees up barn dance at The Hall (2019) and so the Village Hall Committee thought a return was a timely and fun way to carry on with our fundraising efforts to replace the roof. We've booked the band and caller and the tickets will be available at Londis nearer the time. Licenced bar available.
Saturday 28th February Time tbc (evening)
Indian Banquet and Dance Zamans of Newquay has very kindly supported this Village Hall Committee's fundraising event by providing us with the food at a large discount. They will be supplying a chicken and vegetable curry plus rice and bread and I might knock up some papadams as well! The event will continue with a dance which will include a few Bhangra tunes so you can practice your light bulb screwing! This will be a really fun night. Tickets will go on sale at Londis nearer the time. A licenced bar will be available. Profits will go into our re-roofing project.
Saturday 28th March Time tbc (evening)
Daddy Long Legs (Live band) Cubert Village Hall is starting to be known for hosting some excellent live music events and we are delighted to welcome Daddy Long Legs to continue this successful run. The band is a four piece from from Devon and Cornwall, playing covers in the genres of Mod, Ska, New Wave and 90s Brit Pop. They regularly play in and around Newquay, including the Red Lion, and so this eveinng is likely to be a sell-out. Tickets will be available at Londis nearer the time. A licenced bar will be available. Brought to you by the Cubert and Holywell Carnival Committee.
Saturday 20th June Time tbc (evening)
ABBA Tribute Mike Norfolk (Holywell) and his band will be taking us back to the 1970s when heels were high and fashions were debatable! Rudi's Message When Rudi's played at The Hall last year they had such a great response they asked us if they could come back! We thought they were so good we asked them to come back, so.....they're coming back! This gig was a sell-out last year and we have no doubt it will be so again, so get your tickets early. Brought to you by the Cubert and Holywell Carnival Committee. Licenced bar available.
Saturday 10th October Time tbc (evening)
An evening with Johnny Cowling We will be in for serious belly laughs when comedian and entertainer, Johnny Cowling, returns to The Hall. Sit at the front or wear some bright item of clothing if you dare! This event will sell out, so get those tickets as soon as they become available at Londis. A licenced bar will be available. Brought to you by the Cubert and Holywell Carnival Committee.
HEADS UP FOR 2026 AT THE HALL!
In addition to the events shown above there will be the regular Bingo and Quiz evenings and we are hoping to organise some further re-roof fundraisers, including an Ascot Race Night a Murder Mystery and a Harvest Supper. Watch this space!
EVENT TICKETS
We are very grateful to the owners and staff at Londis for allowing tickets for our events to be sold over their counter. Please note that you can only purchase them with cash.
SOCIAL CLUB BAR
The Village Hall Committee is very grateful to Hannah and the volunteers who work at the Social Club who at times go that extra mile to cover the increasing number of social events that are taking place. It's hard work behind the bar and your patience is appreciated on busy nights.
HALL CAPACITY
The maximum 'Fire Safety Regulated' capacity of the Village Hall is 150 persons. This means that most of the Saturday live music events and party nights throughout the year have to be ticket only. For people's comfort, and especially when we have to provide seating and tables, we set a maximum of 140 ticket sales. This also takes account of the staff operating the bar. This means that you need to get your tickets as soon as they are released to avoid disappointment!
Please note that a number of the above events are organised by the Cubert and Holywell Carnival Committee. Although we have tried our best to give accurate information we would advise you to check the details on their Facebook page and on the posters that appear before each event.
