The Gaggia Classic pump machine is a real bargain especially if you can buy one second hand. They are really easy to work on and have all the makings on a professional machine including a 3 way solenoid valve and an adjustable OPV. Fit a PID and you have a machine as capable as anything on the market. Click on the machine for a parts diagram.

Most common fault I find is the solenoid coil fails which is often mistaken for scale blockages or pump failure. It is not possible to obtain the Parker solenoid designated KP-07 in the open marketplace however I stock a Parker part at 240v which will replace this solenoid Also see solenoid repair kit. If buying second hand make sure the steam tap is working and not leaking as they are not serviceable and they are expensive to buy, budget about £30!
