Community

Our Rotary Community & Vocational Committee considers many areas much closer to home working with many organisations to help, support and deliver on more localised projects.

We help and support many local charities both financially and operationally, such as marshalling and helping out with the organisation of local events.

Such an event is the Culter Gala which is held every year in the primary school playing fields. This year’s event will be held on 29th May 2010 between noon and 16:00,  and promises to be as good if not better than previous years. This year the theme of the gala is "a Rumble in the Jungle" so lots of fancy dress. Click here to view the programme.   It will start with a parade at 13:15 from Borsalino’s car park through the village and into the exhibition ring at the centre of the playing fields.  This will be followed by a number of events which will include pipe bands, highland dancing, kids fancy dress and races to name a few. In addition to the main events ring, there are approximately 40 activities and stalls on the field to interest both young and old.   The Rotary Club of Aberdeen Deeside will be helping with the manpower to run the event and will also have its own amusement stall to entertain all.    Entrances to the playing fields are located on Coronation Road and School Crescent.

The Culter Gala raises funds for the benefit of local community projects.     Some pictures from a previous year's event.
