Getting started - Update: 26 9 24
Plans are really getting sorted now for the first 'Building Bridges of Friendship' Adult Learning Delegation Visit to Jamaica (Outward Mobility) with brilliant afternoon and evening activities hosted by Bwyd Da Bangor. Very many thanks to everyone for rallying around so quickly.
At 3pm we ran the weekly Zoom session with the Jamaica Wales Alliance Project Committee. It was good to have Dr Vivian Crawford join us again from Jamaica, also Chairman Coy Roache, Rotarian Dr Walter Leavell, Pennants Rotary Community Corp President Tothnielia Ellis , Iva and Icint Johnson, Dr Barrington Richardson and folks from Bwyd Da Bangor joined along with others. It was good to link and to introduce new folks. Eurica sent her apologies.
This was followed by good food provided by Bwyd Da Bangor for NWJS members who have expressed interest in joining the first delegation ie 'Outward Mobility'.

Success ! Learning Links Internaitonal CIC has been successful with two applications to the Welsh Government Taith initiative to encourage international exchanges with Jamaica.
1 The Adult Learning project is called 'Building Bridges of Friendship' - for adult learners registered to take up opportunities to learn about the shared history of the years of plantaton ownership and enslavement of Africans by the Welsh Pennant family.
2. The Youth project is called 'Youth Activities' providing opportunities for Welsh and Jamaican young people to undertake visits with activities to share Welsh culture and heritage with young people in Jamaica, while learning about Jamacian culture and heritage.
