By Road.........

From Inverness, take the A9 north to the Tore Roundabout, exiting  on the A835 road towards Ullapool. Just past the village of Garve, turn left on the A832 to Achnasheen, continuing on this road through mountains and glens for 45 miles. Passing through Kinlochewe, and then alongside beautiful Loch Maree, this takes you all the way to Gairloch.   Allow one hour and 45 minutes drive time.

 From the South end of Wester Ross, take the A890 from Lochcarron to Achnasheen, then follow directions as above.   Journey time from Lochcarron is approximately one hour.

Coming from Ullapool? Then you turn right at Braemore Junction, and follow the A832 all the way into Gairloch, through Dundonnell, Laide, Aultbea, and Poolewe.   One hour and fifteen minutes driving time. 

 By Air.........This is a bit of a difficult one! Inverenss Airport is about a two hour drive from here. It used to describe itself as our Invernational Airport, but omitted the part that said "as long as you go via Manchester or Luton". In truth, although it has excellent links with these two - both large hub airports  - the reality is that direct scheduled flights to Inverness from outwith the UK are limited. (Like..... Zurich!)  However, there are charter flights in and out the airport as well. And it has to be said that flights from other parts of the UK, such as Bristol, Southampton, Luton, Manchester etc are excellent.

By Bus.....There is one bus a day between Gairloch and Inverness, leaving Gairloch at around 8am (varies slightly according to exactly where you are leaving from, and what day it is - this is due to the route being around the North of the region on Monday / Wednesday / Saturday, and the Southern route the other days) The return journey from Inverness leaves there at 17.20, and the same route variations apply. Sunday, there is NO service either way.
