Cold Ashby Answers Call For Candles and Clapping

Candles were lit in our village windows at 7pm last night (22nd March) to support the call from ‘Churches Together in England’. Our Churchwarden has suggested that we may be asked to repeat this next Sunday and, whatever your faith (or none), The Rambler asks you to support this gesture of hope and solidarity.

She also reminded us of the forthcoming ‘Big Clap for the NHS’ which has been featuring on social media. The idea is that all those who can clap do so at 8pm (this could be from your garden, window or balcony … obviously we must not congregate to do this) to show our continuing appreciation of, and support for, NHS workers at this difficult time.

Might I suggest that we also include all essential workers in this?

So many of us are now self-isolating and we are all receiving many kind offers of help and support from our neighbours.

This is Cold Ashby at its best – we really do care for each other!
