The Olave Baden-Powell Society, formed in 1984, is named after Olave, Lady Baden-Powell, the World Chief Guide who was so dedicated to the advancement of Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting around the world.
HRH Princess Benedikte of Denmark is the active, involved Patron of the Society, with the same dedication to the advancement of girls through Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting.
Scout and Guide Museum
The Country's first purpose-built Scout and Guide Museum, at Waddecar Scout Activity Centre, Lancashire, was opened in 2000. It tells 'The Story of
Guiding' and 'The Story of Scouting' from the rise of the Founder, B-P, to international fame at the Siege of Mafeking to the present day, and looks to the future.
