Earthquake concern over pipeline

Earthquake:  Concern about gas pipeline

Residents living near the high pressure pipe line running from Milford Haven to Gloucester are concerned that the eathquake reported today could cause problems.

It is on record that many people in Wales regard the pipeline as a potential hazard because of its high operating pressure and the way it was installed.

The previous eathquake in Wales of any significance was on 5th June 2009 and was said to be the largest measured in South Wales for 34 years.
The quake was felt at 2042 BST on Friday, 5th June 2009. with the epicentre near Nantyffyllon, 6.2 miles (10km) north east of Port Talbot.
