LNG Pipeline dug up for remedial work

We have have had reports that sections of the LNG pipeline running from Milford Haven to Cilfrew are being dug up for remedial work on the welded joints.  One such section is near Glais where the road has been closed for the work to be done.

This report will be of no surprise to those who oppose the pipeline on grounds of safety, stating at the time of construction that it was jerry built.

Independent experts have expressed concern because the working pressure of the pipeline will eventually be 1,363 lbs per square inch (psi).   This can be compared with 35 psi in a car tyre and 100 psi with a pressure washer.  Some experts have  said that the pipeline with this pressure (the highest of any LNG pipeline in the world) is a time bomb waiting to go off.

A Warning For The Future

13th January 2011

CAPRI Newsletter No. 45 has been added to our library.  It discusses a possible appeal in relation to costs.   It also mentions that the present pipeline operating system and pressures coped with the coldest winter since records began, and casts a doubt on the need of a PRI.

Our concern is, and always has been, the proposed working pressure of the pipeline, on the basis of higher the pressure the greater the danger.

Thought must be given to the future and the winter of 2012 when extreme weather conditions are forecast, including earthquakes all over the world.   This is because the alignment of this planet in the heavens as it completes a cycle of 26,800 years on 21st December 2012.   The alignment of planet earth with other planets on that date is forecast to cause disturbing magnetic influences to our world.   

Anyone with a knowledge of magnetism knows what happens when a conductor is rotated in a magnetic field - bearing in mind that the core of our earth is iron, and iron is a conductor!

Experts say warnings will be given before then - so the current abnormal weather in various parts of the world may have something to do with it.

There are no reports in the media on these forecasts to prevent panic and the inevitable effects on financial markets. However, there is information on the Internet - just Google search for 21.12.2012 - and read for yourself.

What we are concerned about is the effects of the foregoing on the pipeline.   We must be prepared for the worst scenario - and so should the National Grid.

Does this make sense?

CAPRI Newsletter No.44 has been added to our LIBRARY in which it says that the Secretary of State has allowed the appeal made by National Grid.   The report then states the following:-

"It is ironic that Mr Pickles, the Secretary of State who made this decision, put forward a Bill in Parliament which would ‘give local communities real control over housing and planning decisions’ on the same day that he chose to ignore the stated wishes of so many people."

There is a big question mark over the issue.

The question arises:  Will the pipeline survive the winter of 2012?    Have an open mind and look at:-

The ask yourself:  Does it appear that earthquakes and volcanos around the world are increasing in frequency as we approach this period?

Do the National Grid and the Local Authorities in the pipeline areas have a disaster plan in the event of an earthquake?

The Public Inquiry to decide National Grid's proposed pressure reduction installation at Tirley held  on Tuesday 13th July 2010 at Corse & Staunton Village Hall, is reported in the CAPRI Newsletter No. 43, which is stored in the LIBRARY - see Menu.

Have you noticed the frequency of recent earthquakes and the volcanic activity in Iceland (15.4.10)? 
It has been forecast that these will increase as the earth crosses its equator in the heavens in December 2012.
How safe are high pressure gas pipes as we approach this date?

USA Natural Gas Pipeline Explodes

We are waiting for details of the explosion that occurred in the USA while a natural gas pipeline was being tested.   A number of people have been reported killed.

What can we learn from this disaster to prevent something similar happening with the pipeline highlighted below?

Tewkesbury Council Refuse Planning Permission 

The Planning Committee of Tewkesbury Borough Council met on Tuesday 2nd February 2010. They decided to refuse planning permission for National Grid to build the pressure reduction installation at Tirley.

OUR AIM

Our aim is to inform everyone about the controversional LNG Pipeline that runs from Milford Haven to Cilfrew (near Neath) and beyond to the boundary of Wales - and to allow points of view from various souces.

In particular, there should be an awareness of the dangers and what has been experienced in other countries.   The pressure of the gas inside the pipeline will be 94 bar (1,360 psi) - . which can be compared to a pressure washer - in fact 1,363 psi and any comparison with a pressure washer is rather meaningless when you consider that the pressure is enough to send a fireball several hundred feet into the sky and debris to a greater range than that at which a standard military rifle will kill.
The pressure is higher than any other LNG pipeline installed to date.    Dangers increase as the pressure increases.

This website was officially launched on 20th July 2009 when press releases were sent to the media.   It is reasonable to say that they have a moral responsibility to inform their readers and viewers about its existence - in view of the danger to life that has been highlighted by technical experts.
