STaN writes on the Bryncoch South Election
Jo Hale, NPT Councillor
Huge congratulations to Joanna Hale (left) in winning the vacant Bryncoch South council seat last night. She secured 49% of the votes, exactly the same as Plaid Cymru achieved under the late Janice Dudley and Chris Williams in the last vote. It is good to see someone who has put hard yards in, on the Community Council and in her work with fundraising for charities and other local issues, getting their just desserts.
From what I have picked up, Plaid worked damned hard to retain this seat. I like that. Nothing switches the electorate off more than complacency, because after that you get a sense of entitlement. In Neath we know to our cost all about that, don't we! There were a few bloody good candidates put themselves forward in this one, so Jo should be proud of what she has achieved.
Good luck to her.
