Body Talk wants Empire Pillars

The new Body Talk fitness gymnasium in Davies Road Neath want a piece of the Empire, which is close by and is currently being demolished.   Simon and Mirrielle James who have just opened up their new fitness centre said they would love to have two of the Empire pillars to put at the entrance of their car park.

The foreman of the demolition site that he will do what he can to ensure that two of the four pillars can be removed in one piece, adding that he could make no promises because the way the pillars are built into the building.

FOLLOW UP   ---- Alas, sad news, the pillars were hollow and broke up during the demolition.

Empire going green

It can be revealed that the old bricks and rubble from the Empire is being recycled locally.   The material is bring crushed for further use and that fact that this is done locally helps the carbon footprint with relatively short journeys by road to the crushing plant.
