about the workshops
The content
Each training day is customised to meet local needs. The Community Land Unit commissioned six 'standard' workshops to be delivered in the training day. Local variations can include:
- introductory or advanced levels of the six standard workshops, depending on the level of experience of local groups
- optional workshops to vary the programme.
The 'standard' training day involves two trainers, each delivering six sessions. This means that there is the opportunity to have up to twelve workshop choices during the day. Each participant will be able to attend six choices.
The format
Each workshop is delivered in a 'brief' training format:
- Presentation providing an overview of the issues
- Exercises to involve participants in developing tools they can use within their own groups
- Questions and answers
- Provision of a comprehensive pack on each topic attended - these are also posted on the relevant 'In Your Area' section after the workshop, together with any additional information arising from the Q&A session.
Booking
Once the programme is finalised, we send the programme and booking form out to local groups. We also place the local programme and booking forms on the relevant 'In Your Area' sections.
When booking, participants choose their workshops from the options agreed and set out in the programme.
