SESSION ONE
Workshop 1: Governance
The workshop will help you, review the most appropriate structure for your Board and your committee's strengths, helping you define some of the roles needed to develop and sustain your group.

Workshop 2: New to Community Ownership
If you are new to the idea of taking over land, buildings or other community assets to be run for the community, by the community, this workshop introduces you to some of the experiences of initiatives in Scotland, and introduces you to some of the key supporters and funders for community ownership.

SESSION TWO:
Workshop 3: Communications
The workshop will help you to use communication effectively to raise your profile and increase your network of support. It will also explore some of the tricky issues around working with the media.

Workshop 4: Finance
The workshop will give an overview the essentials of financial systems, and introduce management of cash flow and risks in larger scale projects. It will also enable participants to apply some business planning processes to their own project idea.

SESSION THREE:
Workshop 5 – Gathering and Using Information
|
This workshop will look at some of the tools and techniques that can be used by communities to show evidence of need, and look at wider sources of information to back your proposals.

Workshop 6 – Project Development and Fundraising
This workshop will look at the process of taking projects from the ‘idea’ stage to the ‘application for funding’ stage, including the testing of ideas to see if they will work (the basics of feasibility), developing ideas into project plans for funders and partners, and the essentials of good funding proposal

SESSION FOUR:
Workshop 7 – Securing a Sustainable Future
|
The workshop will consider long term issues for communities, and how changing policies, funding environments, technology and social development may change demands on groups which own and manage community assets.
