Other options
There are eight optional workshops which can replace one of the six standard workshops if local groups agree that these are more likely to meet local needs.
Please note that once a programme is agreed for each area (by asking local representatives) then we cannot vary the programme. So, if these options do not appear in your programme, but you are interested in them, you may wish to check the programmes of other areas nearest to you.
Project Development
This workshop will provide an understanding of the steps required to move an idea from inception though to project plan. The workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to work through their own specific ideas within the session
Funding
This workshop will provide an overview of the strategic issues behind fundraising for CLIs, and will have an understanding of the elements of effective fundraising. Participants will have the opportunity to develop some specific fundraising tools for their CLI within the session.
Project Management
The workshop will give an overview of the key tasks when taking forward a project from funding to completion, and an understanding of tools and resources to support project management.
Strategic Planning
This workshop will provide participants with the tools to apply assessments of capability and the external context to their own CLI and will give an understanding of how to develop a strategic plan.
Managing Contractors
The workshop will generate the confidence to contract out small - medium scale peices of work, by raising awareness of potential pitfalls while developing the knowledge and understanding to help organisations avoid these.
Effective Meetings
The workshop will provide participants with thte confidence to lead and participate in different kinds of meetings and give an overview of the skills necessary to ensure the purpose of meetings is achieved.
Influencing Decision Makers
This workshop will give an understanding of how and when to influence decision makers and help generate the confidence to develop a 'gameplan' for participants' own CLI.
Gathering and using information - research, action research and evalutation
The workshop will increase participants' knowledge and understanding of how to use data from a range of sources. Participants will be better prepared to demonstrate the impact of their work through establishing a baseline and evidence of results.
