Breeder Yvonne & Andrew Bradshaw, Craigmyle Epiphyllum Nursery started in 1973 by Yvonne and Andrew Burton with three unknown epi cuttings.
In 1975 there were not many correctly named varieties in New Zealand where their are very strict import and export regulations ,1000 varieties were imported from California,
Special permits had to be issued before the arrival of the cuttings.
In 1999 the first crosses were very successful. To date two flowers have more than 70 petals, Kiwi pop idol and Kiwi rendezvous, and many more varieties more than 50-60 petals
