FLORAL ART IN THE GARDENTuesday 23rd March 2010 Numi Nitin Karania was the gracious hostess of our 2010 garden meeting. Her lovely home in Kitisuru boasts a mature garden with a conservatory large enough to accommodate almost 100 people! The conservatory also has a swimming pool. Stones, garden sculptures and huge terracota pots have been displayed to great effect throughout. Vice-Chairman Priya Shah had displayed large garden art exhibits throughout the conservatory & garden and had also worked tirelessly to cater the delicious brunch which is always the forte of the Floral Club's garden meetings. Numi also demonstrated a lovely floating arrangement achieved using a styrofoam sheet. Other demonstrators were Chairperson Aruna Shah, committee member Rachael Shapi. Farhat Khan who is a very enthusiastic general member, showed spathe-based exhibits. Committee member Pritesh Shah displayed a sample of the exhibit for the April 2010 meeting 'Alternative Colour Therapy' encouraging members to paint their stands in colours other than black. He had also done a coffee table exhibit 'Centre of Attraction' which is one of the classes for the Show in May. Ex-Officio Pravina Shah likewise displayed 'Strata' whilst Priya displayed 'Sun Sea & Sand' - both of which are Show titles. All 3 had done a superb job for the benefit of the general members.
