Introduction.    Since the GRAM-R-FONE videos were put on YOUTUBE a few months ago, Alan Ashton, the Producer, has been asked many questions about them.  The following are the ones most frequently asked:-

Q......CAN I BUY ANY OF THE VIDEOS DISPLAYED ON THE GRAM-R-FONE WEBSITE?  

A.......Regrettably this is not possible because of Copyright restrictions. 

 

Q...... If AVAILABLE FOR HOME VIEWING, WILL THERE BE MORE THAN ONE VIDEO ON THE DVD ?     DO I GET A CHOICE? 

A.....Again, and because of Copyright restrictions, I cannot make for sale any private copies.

 

 

 

Q.... WHAT WAS THE CONCEPT BEHIND THE GRAM-R-FONE VIDEOS? 

A.... In the halcyon days of the cinema organ interlude, organists accompanied slides projected on the screen. Sometimes it was just a sing-a-long…other times organists compiled a show that was more involved, well thought out and as a result, highly entertaining. All I have tried to do is bring that concept in to line with the world we now live in, but at the same time, remembering and honouring the past. In fact one of the videos is centred on the art of the cinema organist and includes an actual set of interlude slides to which organist Michael Wooldridge has provided the accompanying music on the Singing Hills Golf Club WurliTzer organ.
 

Additional Questions:-

• Q.... Is it possible to post any news of forthcoming cinema and theatre organ concerts on the Gram-r-fone website?
  A.... This can be done through the Guestbook feature…and in fact is welcomed. The object of the Guestbook is to convey information to as many people as possible. So please feel to use it.

• Q.... Can forthcoming events be mentioned on your monthly Organ1st Internet Radio Programme?
   A.... I regret to say this is not possible as each programme remains ‘live’ for a month at a time and once up-loaded to the web it means that to remove an outdated item ie: an event at the beginning of the month, the entire programme would have to be taken off air while this is done, and then uploaded once again. This is a time consuming and lengthy process.  The alternative would mean that outdated and perhaps misleading information would remain ‘live’ for the remainder of the month….thus giving the impression that the pages are not regularly checked. 

•  Q.... Is it possible for anyone with commercial interests to pay to have advertisements on the Gram-r-fone website?
  A....  This can be arranged…in fact we have given consideration to this feature. If you would like to leave your details on the FEEDBACK / CONTACT form (see Menu), it will receive prompt attention.

• Q... Is it possible to buy CD albums of the featured players?
  A.... Links have been provided below the introductions of the players with albums for sale at Organ1st-MSS Studios.   The albums may, or may not, include the tracks featured on the YOUTUBE - so it would be wise to check the play list that appears on the Organ1st website.
